The Unbreakable Bond
Once upon a time, there was a family who found their happiness in their strong bond and their shared belief in God's words. The family consisted of a loving husband and wife, who were devoted parents to their children. They knew that together, they could overcome any challenge that came their way.   One day, a mean man came and tried to make the family unhappy. He shouted, ‘I will make your house smaller!’ But the family didn't get scared. They smiled and said, ‘If our house is smaller, we will be closer together, making us even happier!’   The mean man didn't give up. He shouted again, ‘I will take away your food!’ But the family still smiled. They said, ‘If we have less food, we will share what we have. We will take care of each other and be strong together!’   The mean man got angrier and shouted again, ‘I will take away everything that is green!’ But the family remained happy. They said, ‘Even if there is no green, we can mix blue and yellow to make green. We will create our own beauty and be thankful for the simple things.’   The mean man was so mad because the family didn't get upset. He couldn't break their happiness no matter what he tried. He gave up and went away in defeat.   The family members continued to love each other and follow God's teachings. Their love and unity became a light for others to see and follow.   Message A loving and united family, guided by faith and values, can overcome any challenge and find happiness in even the most difficult circumstances.   Bible verse “How good, how delightful it is for all to live together like brothers.” ( Psalm 133:1)   Action Create a family gratitude wall. Family
Family is really important. It's the people who love and take care of us, like our parents. There's a quote from the bible that says, "Honour your father and your mother." (Exodus 20:12) It means we should respect and be thankful for our parents.   Our parents do so much for us. They teach us important things and help us grow. They love us no matter what and always support us. When we're feeling sad or scared, they're there to make us feel better. They teach us right from wrong and show us how to be kind and helpful to others.   Honouring our parents means more than just doing what they say. It means showing them respect and being grateful for all they do. We should listen to their advice and ask for their help when we need it. They have lots of experience and wisdom to share with us.   By honouring our parents, we help create a happy and loving family. When we show respect and gratitude, it brings us closer together. It also makes us feel like we belong and have a special place in our family. In our school , students write poems about family. (Let's check one of the students work on P.9)   In a world that is always changing, it's important to remember the value of family. Honouring our parents reminds us to appreciate the people who love and care for us. It reminds us to keep the traditions and values that make our family strong.   So let's remember to honor our parents and show them how much we appreciate them. Let's listen to their advice and be grateful for all they do. By doing these things, we can help create a loving and happy family.   Glossary Grateful (adjective) : showing or expressing thanks, especially to another person. 感激的,表示感謝的 Gratitude (noun) : the feeling or quality of being grateful. 深深的感謝╱感激不盡

The Joy of Giving
As Chinese New Year was approaching, William, Daisy and Rose eagerly started writing their wish lists. William dreamed of having a modern train set because he saw his friend with a magnificent model train set.   Daisy complained that her clothes were old-fashioned. She wanted some beautiful clothes. Rose desired a new blue bike although she already had one. When Mum saw her kids discussing happily, she interrupted them. She asked them, ‘Do you want to buy all of those things or use the money to help others?’   William, Daisy and Rose felt puzzled. They did not understand what their mum meant. So Mum sat down next to them and said, ‘Many people around the world need our help and support. Some people are very poor.   They don’t have enough money to buy food, clean drinking water and medicine. So they always starve and get sick.’   Daisy asked, ‘We’re just kids. How can we help them?’ ‘There are many ways we can help,’ Mum explained. ‘We can donate money, old toys and clothes to a charitable organization. To raise money for charity, we can sell or buy raffle tickets. If we have time, we can visit the poor families, orphanages and elderly homes to show our love and care to them.’   ‘We are lucky to have so much and it’s important to share our love and happiness with people in need. Now I don’t need a new bike. I can use the money to help others,’ Rose said. ‘I don’t buy a new dress. I want to donate the money to help the poor,’ Daisy declared. William said, ‘I can give some trains to the poor. I’ll persuade my friends to donate their old toys too.’   Mum hugged her children tightly and said, ’I’m glad that you all understand the importance of giving and helping others. I’m really proud of you.’   Message Share our love with others. Help people in need.   Bible verse Beloved, if God so loved us, we also must love one another. (1 John 4 :11)   Action Take the initiative to lend a helping hand to care for and help everyone in need.   Glossary Interrupt (verb) : to stop someone when they are talking or doing something 打斷 Persuade (verb) : to make someone do or believe something by giving them good reasons for doing it 說服 Orphanage (noun) : a home for children whose parents are dead or cannot take care of them 孤兒院   This story if taken from CEO Project 1.0 - Love ( Level 1 ) Unit 12 Giving is Loving

Love is never rude and selfish (1 Cor. 13:5)
Have you ever wondered what it truly means to be a good friend? How can we ensure that everyone feels included and valued in our friendship and activities? In this passage, we explore the themes of friendship, empathy, and inclusivity.   Lily, Rose, and Daisy are discussing about whether they should ride bicycles. Lily and Rose are excited about riding, but Daisy doesn't have a bicycler. Lily and Rose tease Daisy, saying that they win because they outnumbered her. While Lily and Rose are having fun, Daisy feels left out. However, when their mom asks Rose if she would like to be excluded from a family holiday, Rose realises what she and Lily did was wrong. Rose apologises to Daisy and suggests playing a game that all of them enjoy.   After reading the story, children of Sau Mau Ping Catholic Primary School were inspired by the themes of friendship, empathy, and inclusivity.
