“Let the sage boast no more of his wisdom, nor the valiant of his valour, nor the rich man of his riches ! ” (Jeremiah 9 : 23)
In a nice little family, there lived three siblings, Rose, Daisy, and William, along with their mum and dad. They put a lot of effort into the exams and today they were going to receive the results.   All three of them were waiting patiently and eagerly in their respective class for the teacher. “Oh, I am so excited to see my grades,” Rose told her friends. A few minutes later, teacher started giving back their results. Rose looked at her marks and immediately gleamed with happiness. Precisely, it was a similar scenario in all classrooms. When Daisy received her marks, she gazed at her paper and started jumping up and down with dignity. In William's classroom, William had just got his marks. He looked at them and sighed.   Once they all got back home from school, they started sharing their marks.   William just stood there quietly. "William, what did you get?" asked Daisy. "I got 68 marks only," replied William in a tiny voice. He sadly said, "I am not smart at all. I am dumb..."   "No, you're not. You are so smart at building things," Rose told him. "But my marks..." trailed off William. "William, you run so fast,” added Daisy. William felt a bit better.   Mum came up to them and said with pride, "Rose and Daisy, I am so proud of you for getting good marks. You always work hard but never boast.” Dad also said, " I'm so glad when you are kind to your brother."   Message Love does not boast.   Action Be kind, generous and accepting. Find one’s virtue not shortcomings.   Glossary Patiently (adverb) : with calmness 有耐性地 Eagerly (adverb) : in an interested manner 熱切地 Respective (adjective) : belonging separately to each of two or more people 各自 Gleamed (verb) : shine brightly 閃閃發光 Scenario (noun) : a setting for a work 場景 Gazed (verb) : look steadily 凝視著   The story is taken from CEO Project 1.0 – Love (Level 1) Unit 4 – God makes us smart in different ways.

"Love is never jealous." (1 Cor. 13 : 4)
Once upon a time, in a small town, lived two sisters named Rose and Lily. One day, Mum bought a bike for Lily as her old one was broken. When Rose saw Lily's new bike, her eyes sparkled with envy, and she wished for one just like it.   Filled with desire, Rose asked, "Mum, can I get an orange bicycle?"   "Sweetie, you have a blue bike," Mum responded gently.   Rose angrily crossed her arms and complained, "That's not fair! I want a new bike like Lily's. It's so pretty!"   With a gentle smile, Mum replied softly, "I understand, Rose. But remember, love is about being happy for others and appreciating what God has given us. Love does not envy."   Deep in thought, Rose realised that her bike was also a precious gift from God. She said, "Mum, you're right. I should be grateful for what I have."   From then on, Rose decided to be thankful for her bike and enjoyed riding it joyfully. "Lily, your bike looks amazing! I'm so happy for you," Rose said with glee.   Message Love is being grateful for what we have rather than wanting what others have. We should appreciate what God has given us.   Action • Be happy with what you have. • Show your love and kindness to others.   Glossary Sparkled (verb) to shine brightly with small flashes of light 閃爍 Grateful (adjective) showing or expressing thanks 感謝   Source: The story is taken from CEO Project 1.0 – Love (Level 1) Unit 3- Lily’s Pink Bicycle.

"Love is always patient and kind.” (1 Corinthians 13:4)
Have you ever felt loneliness when you are in a new and unfamiliar environment? Asha is a newcomer to school. Seeing her schoolmates playing around and hearing the laughter, she is longing for a sense of comfort to get rid of the anxiety deep inside her heart. Without the courage to take the first step to approach others, she is just sitting on the bench all by her lonesome during recess.   Rose and Lily have God’s words of “love your neighbour as yourself” (Mark 12:31) in their hearts and they feel Asha’s needs. They realise Asha’s desire for company. A friend in need is a friend indeed. “Shall we be together during recess?” Rose and Lily asked Asha. Asha looks up and immediately says yes. Rose and Lily are the angels and their invitation is just like a warm welcoming message from God of “Do not be afraid, for I am with you” (Isaiah 41:10). Rose and Lily become Asha’s friends and they show Asha around the campus and share their precious moments of school life together. “It’s very kind of you. I feel blessed to have you as my friends,” says Asha with tears running from her eyes. From now on, Asha fears nothing, and enjoys her school life with Rose and Lily.   After reading the story, the students of JVSJ were so inspired that they shared their own experiences of helping others at school. A P.2 student shared about helping a P.1 student find his lost water bottle. It made him content just to see the younger student's grateful smile. He remembered how someone had helped him, and that was why he wanted to do the same for others.   Being kind to others does make a difference. Kind deeds are like ripples that pay forward. Let's make our world a better place by showing kindness to one another.   Message Kindness is an act of love. Being kind also means caring for the poor and the needy, for God wants us to be kind to one another.   Action Do one good deed a day. Look around and feel around. There should be someone who needs help from others. Be God’s messenger of love and kindness to reach out your helping hand to those who are in need.   Glossary Courage (noun) The ability to do something despite having fear 勇氣 Laughter (noun) The act or sound of laughing 笑聲 Lonesome (noun) Self 自己   The story is taken from CEO Project 1.0 - Love (Level 1) Unit 2 Playing with a New Friend
