Honour your father and your mother ( Exodus 20 :12 )
Rose, Daisy and William’s parents adored their children and always taught them the values of kindness and respect. They also emphasized the importance of appreciating everything they did as a family.
Every morning, Rose, Daisy, and William would wake up with smiles and greet their parents with joy.
One evening, Rose helped her mum prepare dinner and decided to express her thoughts. "Mum, thank you for working so hard to take care of our family," she said.
Her mum smiled warmly. "You're welcome, Rose. It means the world to me that you appreciate our efforts. We do it because we love all of you so much," she replied.
Encouraged by her mum's response, Rose continued, "I want to help more around the house. I want you to know that I truly value your hard work."
The following day, Rose shared her newfound understanding with her siblings. Excited by Rose's idea, Daisy approached her dad during dinner and said, "Dad, can I set the table every evening?"
Her dad's face beamed. "Of course, Daisy! That's a fantastic idea. Your contribution will show how much you appreciate our family, and it will be a great help."
Meanwhile, William approached his mum and said, "Mum, can I help with the laundry from now on?"
His mum's face lit up. "William, that's such a thoughtful gesture. Yes, you can help me with the laundry. It will make things easier for me, and we can spend more quality time together."
This loving family realized that even the smallest acts of kindness and gratitude could strengthen their bond and make their home a truly special place

The Joy of Giving
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Rose. Rose was always ready to explore and learn something new.
One sunny morning, as she sat on the couch, she noticed her mum carrying a basket full of vibrant flowers. "Mum, what are these flowers called? They're beautiful!" Rose exclaimed. “They are called orchids, my dear. Aren't they elegant?” her mum replied with a gentle smile.
The pink orchids caught Rose's attention. "The pink ones look so soft, like fluffy clouds. And the white ones, they look like tiny marshmallows!" she exclaimed with excitement. "Why d i d y o u b u y orchids, Mum?" Rose asked, her little fingers gently touching the delicate petals. Her mum explained, "During Chinese New Year, we buy flowers to make our home nicer." "I'm going to draw them, Mum!" she declared.
As Rose sat on the couch, carefully sketching the orchids, her mum went about her chores. Suddenly, a loud crash of broken glass echoed through the house, making her mum jump in surprise. "It wasn't me, Mum. I promise! I was right here, drawing," Rose quickly assured her mom, a worried expression on her face. Believing her daughter, her mum smiled. "I know, Rose. Sometimes, strange things happen. Let's go and check."

The Joy of Giving
As Chinese New Year was approaching, William, Daisy and Rose eagerly started writing their wish lists. William dreamed of having a modern train set because he saw his friend with a magnificent model train set.
Daisy complained that her clothes were old-fashioned. She wanted some beautiful clothes. Rose desired a new blue bike although she already had one. When Mum saw her kids discussing happily, she interrupted them. She asked them, ‘Do you want to buy all of those things or use the money to help others?’
William, Daisy and Rose felt puzzled. They did not understand what their mum meant. So Mum sat down next to them and said, ‘Many people around the world need our help and support. Some people are very poor.
They don’t have enough money to buy food, clean drinking water and medicine. So they always starve and get sick.’
Daisy asked, ‘We’re just kids. How can we help them?’ ‘There are many ways we can help,’ Mum explained. ‘We can donate money, old toys and clothes to a charitable organization. To raise money for charity, we can sell or buy raffle tickets. If we have time, we can visit the poor families, orphanages and elderly homes to show our love and care to them.’
‘We are lucky to have so much and it’s important to share our love and happiness with people in need. Now I don’t need a new bike. I can use the money to help others,’ Rose said. ‘I don’t buy a new dress. I want to donate the money to help the poor,’ Daisy declared. William said, ‘I can give some trains to the poor. I’ll persuade my friends to donate their old toys too.’
Mum hugged her children tightly and said, ’I’m glad that you all understand the importance of giving and helping others. I’m really proud of you.’

Love can heal and fix everything
At the dining table, Mum was still talking to Rose, William and Daisy about who broke the glass. Looking at the orchids and the broken glass, Mum continued to show her patience and gentleness. With a pair of trusting eyes, she was putting her trust and faith onto her children.
“I was playing with my soldiers,” William said. “It wasn’t me,” he declared.
Rose, William and Mum looked at Fluffy. Surely a cat could not express itself by talking, it could only miaow, and purr. “Fluffy, you broke the glass!” Rose scolded fiercely.
Fluffy looked innocent and miaowed again. The room echoed with the miaow of Fluffy. Suddenly, Daisy said softly, “It wasn’t Fluffy. I broke the glass. I’m sorry, Mummy.” William and Rose were shocked. Except for Mum, she smiled and kissed Daisy.
“Mummy… aren’t you upset?” Daisy asked hesitantly. Mum patted Daisy’s shoulder and held her close. Then Mum said, “No, I’m actually very happy because you told the truth.” William and Rose knew how forgiving Mum was while Daisy understood how precious it was to tell the truth. They all smiled at one another warmly.
