Do you remember the evil man in the story published on《Joyful Youth》Issue 2 ( 2023.09.24 ) ? He was furious when he learned that nothing he did could destroy the love and bonds of a caring family. He ran home desperately. To his surprise, when his parents heard about what he had done, they embraced him and said, ‘We do not like the things you do. We do not want you to hurt others, but we love you and we forgive you.’ The evil man was amazed by his parents’ love for him. He felt regret for his evil deeds and made up his mind to do good.   Message The story shows us the power of forgiveness. The parents of the evil man forgave him because of their love for him, and it was this unconditional love that gave the evil man the power to change and do good. Sometimes we find it hard to forgive others even if they are our family. Think about what Jesus did when he was being crucified. He prayed to God, " Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."   Action Next time, when your brothers and sisters hurt you or mistreat you, put your feelings into words and tell them. Then forgive them. You can make a difference. William, Daisy and Rose worked hard to prepare the best Mother’s Day for their mom. They face different obstacles and learn how to overcome them with communication, teamwork and grit. Most importantly, they learn about the importance of family love.   On their way home after visiting their grandparents, Rose, Daisy and William saw advertisements for Mother’s Day gifts on the MTR. So, they decide to surprise their mother with a homemade gift and plan a celebration for her. The children decided to make a blueberry cheesecake. Although the process was difficult, the three siblings encouraged and helped one another. In the end, they succeeded in showing their love towards their mother on that special day.   As a mother myself, this particular story resonated with me. Mothers love their children unconditionally, and only wish the best for them. We work tirelessly and sacrifice a lot for our children, so we greatly appreciate it when children do their best to show their love for the family. Another core message from the story is that we are all part of God’s great family and family love unites us. In the story, the three siblings worked with each other to bake the blueberry cheesecake out of their love for their mother. Family love motivated the three siblings to overcome the challenges they faced.   Once upon a time, there was a mean man who wanted to end the world. He had a magic spell that made people not want to work. He smelled really bad, and the horrible smell made people not want to go outside. One day, the mean man looked into a house and saw a happy family sitting inside, smiling. This made him very angry because they were not affected by his plan.   The mean man didn't know what to do next. He wanted to make the family sad, but they were strong and didn't let his evil plan get to them. Rose and Daisy are close sisters. They study in the same Catholic primary school. Both of them are bookworms. Recently Daisy fell in love with a book called “The 5 Love Languages”. One lovely evening in the summer holidays, Daisy was busy as a bee, colouring and writing on a big poster in her room. She named it “Daisy’s Kindness Chart”. Rose just walked past her sister’s room. She paused because something caught her eyes. It was the amazing big chart. On the top of the chart, Daisy wrote all her family members’ names. Then down under she listed T-K-T-G: Things to do - little things she can do to make them happy Kind words - what to say to express appreciations and thanks Time - the precious moments she would like to spend with her family Gifts - the special gift which suits them the best Rose was puzzled with her brilliant sister’s masterpiece. Daisy left Rose’s column blank in things to do. Unhesitatingly, Rose told her sister, “You can make my bed.” Rose gave her sister a wink. It is a well-known fact that Rose never makes her bed.
