Nowadays the most common leisure activity in Hong Kong is watching television. Almost all households have at least one television set. After a hard day's work or study, most people want to relax in front of the television. "Television" (or "TV") is also called "telly" in British English. Do you spend your free time watching TV? According to the Environmental Protection Department, Hong Kong generates over 18,000 tonnes of waste every day. If we do not act quickly to manage waste, our existing landfills will be full within a matter of years and we will be drowning in our own rubbish (“garbage” in American English). The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 30th of September this year. This festival is traditionally celebrated on the fifteenth day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, which is usually in September or early October in the Western calendar. Chinese people sometimes call the Chinese calendar the “yin calendar” or the “old calendar”. In contrast, the Western calendar, which is an internationally accepted calendar, is called “yang calendar” or the “new calendar”.

According to some studies, breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it may help to regulate appetite and energy. What food do you normally have for breakfast, the Chinese-style congee or the Western-style bread? Among Chinese people, the most traditional breakfast food is congee. When eaten as plain congee, it is often served with side dishes such as deep-fried dough sticks and salted duck eggs.
