What would you do if you were Angelina?刊登日期: 2018.11.02

Angelina studies in one of the top secondary schools in town. Like many other schools, her school categorises（分）students in d i f f e r e n t c l a s s e s b y t h e i r academic performance. Angelina has always been in the elite class. Though she has a fortitudinous spirit（堅忍精神）and is very committed to her studies, she is also easygoing with the class ranking（名次）. There are thirty students in her class. She well understands that even becoming the last, they are still top of the whole form. After all, being number one or the last is only a difference of a mere（僅僅）10 points in the average scoring.
Recently Angelina was sent to r e p r e s e n t t h e s c h o o l i n a competition. When she returned after lunch, she asked her best friend Vivien what was taught while she was away. Vivien embarrassingly refused to update her. Angelina was most shocked. They had been together since kindergarten. Vivien actually went away with tears in her eyes for her own act（行為）. Stephan got sight of this, she offered to help and handed Angelina some loose sheets. Angelina was skeptical （ 懷疑） . S t e p h a n h a s a competitive streak（爭強好勝的天性）. It turned out that all the notes shared to her were just the opposite of the correct answers.
- If ranking is not my main concern, I would ask the school to switch me out to another less competitive class in which I can mingle（交往）with more “real” friends. I’d estrange（疏遠）from students in the elite class. We probably do not speak the same language（沒有共同觀點）
- Though I’d feel terrible about my best friend’s rejection, I’d try to apprehend（理解）her behaviour. When her turn comes to be sent out by the school, I’d take the initiative（主動）to update her on what she’d missed out. An eye for an eye would never be the solution.
