What would you do if you were Daisy?刊登日期: 2018.10.19

There is a big drama at Daisy’s school at the end of each school year, many parents buy tickets to support that. It has always been a spectacular（壯觀）show every year. Daisy’s mom causally（隨便地）asked Daisy how come she never participated（參與）in the big event. Daisy got annoyed（生氣）with the questions, thinking that moms only want to have pride （自豪）from what their kids do.
Daisy’s mom grabbed（抓住）the opportunity to convince（說服） Daisy only that if she tried, she would know whether she liked drama or not. She further asked D a i s y t o s t a t e（ 說明）h e r reasons for not willing（願意）to join after all these years. Could it be too time consuming（花時間）? Or did she get rejected（拒絕）by the school? Mom stated （列出）a few possibilities（可能性）. Daisy took some time to search（尋找）f o r h e r own concern（隱憂）which did not come out from the top of her head （不假思索地）. A f t e r some serious thinking, she then realized that it was a lack（缺乏）of peer （朋輩）support. None of Daisy’s friends were involved in drama all along. No one ever asked her to sign up, and she has been passive（被動）in taking the initiative（採取主動）. Looking into her mom’s eyes, Daisy knew her mom wanted her to try this year.
What would you do if you were Daisy?
Joining the drama team is for fun. If my good friends were not doing so, the whole idea would not be fun and why then should I go for it? I’d do something else with my peer group.
Though my friends were not joining the drama team, I’d go and try it out to see if I’d like it or not. I might make new friends there. More importantly, I’d have done something which my mother encouraged（鼓勵）me to, and I could always back out（退出）if it was not really to my liking.
