Once upon a time, there was a well-known race between the hare and the tortoise. The tortoise won because the hare took a few rests and was unaware that the tortoise had slowly taken the lead.
However, for the tortoise, although he had won the race, he knew his victory was a result of the arrogance of the hare. The tortoise knew that he still ran slowly. Therefore, the tortoise started his own training. He woke up early every morning, did some warm-ups, walked around his garden for a few rounds and started running.
After two months, the tortoise decided to time his running. He had run two hours and forty-five minutes in the race and he knew that if the hare did not take a nap, the hare should have finished the race within an hour. The tortoise took a deep breath, and started running. At the end, the tortoise finished in two hours forty minutes. He was very disappointed as he realised that his result was still far behind the hare’s. He wept next to the river. An owl walked by and asked what had happened.
"I have worked very hard," said the tortoise, "but I still can’t run as fast as the hare."
After some thoughts, the owl patted the tortoise and said, "Yes, you cannot run as fast as the hare, but it is because you two are different. You should respect who you are and find out your own strength. At least, you should be happy that you have already tried your best."
