Windsor is a town in the county of Berkshire. It is famous for its Windsor Castle, which is the largest and oldest inhabited castle in the world. Since it takes only around an hour to travel from London to Windsor by train, many people often go to Windsor for a day trip when they visit London.

Last October, I also visited Windsor when I was travelling around London. I visited the famous Windsor Castle, which is one of the official residences of the Royal Family. I had a chance to visit the magnificent State Apartments and take a look at the extensive collections, including paintings by Rembrandt. The State Rooms are lavishly furnished and decorated. My favourite part of the Castle is Queen Mary's Dolls' House, which was built by the best artists and craftsmen in the 1920s. Every miniature(微型的)item in the dolls' house is delicately(精緻地)designed in minute detail. I was truly amazed by the excellent craftsmanship(手藝)!

Within the castle area you can also find St. Georges Chapel, which is the place of worship and the burial place of ten monarchs(君王). I mentioned that I watched Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace last time. Changing of the Guard ceremony also takes place at Windsor Castle and I was delighted to see the guards again!
